At the time of writing I have been working with a difficult year 9 class. I have just taken them over and they needed to be more engaged as they struggle to listen at the start of a lesson. In my experience this is a come problem for schools that are RI or worse. Especially if their is not a coherent behaviour policy and / or it isn’t followed through well enough.
Anyway, we have been studying a simple unit based around the question: How far can we trust the Hollywood cartoon Anastasia to get it right about the Russian Revolution? This works a treat and is highly engaging. Here is how we planned this enquiry:
