The best way to teach your students about the Battle of Hastings in our experience is to use this brilliant role play.
Ian Luff created this memorable lesson simulation that you can use with your students. We would recommend adding some props including rulers for swords, imaginary bows and arrows and a crown for King Harold.
Some departments ask year 7 to make their own shield either for homework or in design technology. This is a great idea.
Ian’s role play is available on Ian Dawsons excellent website www.thinkinghistory.co.uk

Enjoy!
