This enquiry follows on from the previous one (‘Why did the Windrush-era migrants make Britain their home?’), focusing on the impact which Windrush-era migrants had on life in Britain.
The premise of the enquiry is that students must decide which items to place in a ‘time capsule’ dedicated to the Windrush-era migrants, making their selections based on judgements about significance.
The enquiry ends with an exploration of the recent ‘Windrush scandal’, and students are finally tasked with composing a series of tweets from the perspective of an MP who is trying to repair the damage done by the scandal.
